Actual Visit

First day of adventure! :) Here are the places I visited on my first day here in Batanes:


My First target place is the town of Basco ( this is the main municipality of Batanes)

 I took this Picture right after the airplane landed.

This is Mount Iraya, as what you can see, the airport is at the foot of the mountain..

This is how our room looks like... How refreshing wasn't it? :)

this is the balcony... I'm so close to the ocean, I can smell the sea breeze.. Well the place was well maintain, it has hot and cold water, air condition and so close to nature feeling.


This is Santo Domingo de Guzman Cathedral

The church is the first (spanish) catholic church built in Batanes in the early part of the 18th century. the feast of the Basco's patron saint is celebrated by the Ivatan every 8th of August.

 this is what the church looks like when you enter... hooooohhhh... I can feel God's holy presence. :)

 This is Kuarl Marine Sanctuary :)

Declared as a municipal marine santuary, the diversity of the marine life makes it one of the best, yet undiscovered dive sites in the country. This a place for me to communicate with nature. :)

This the famous Naidi Hills and Light House of Basco. This is one of the old settlement of Ivasays. Nature!!!!!!!!!! hmmmmm... the air is pretty strong up here. :)





Second day and my Last day here in Batanes:

In the morning, we went the famous honesty coffee shop... why is it called honesty, well,     the answer is simple, because there is no dealer guarding the shop.. being honest is oone of the ivatan traits so no need to have a guard.. haha.. :D

Beach time!
this is Diura Beach

after Diura beach I went to the famous old settlement of the Ivatans and usually it is the place were their
 ancestors bathe. Spring of Youth coming up next...

the picture shows both the spring and Moun Iraya. The spring is very clean that will you are swimming, you can have a drink. Its a spring water  from the hill beside the place. I did enjoy taking a bath. and feel like I became younger... haha. :)

Batanes is really an amazing place. Not only because the place is beautiful but also because the people are really kind, helpful, hospitable and friendly. They do respect you as a tourist. I'll show a picture that reflect the Ivatan's personality and that is their architectural art.





Thier limestone house stand for 100-300 years old. Still the house is a sturdy as the Ivatans. It's a simple house but a very convenient one. During cold weather, when your inside the house, it is warm but when summer comes the house becomes cold. A friendly house. :)
